Earthquake
Sunday, September 5, 2010

Since Christchurch was hit with 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Saturday morning, I decided to do some research on how to react/survive during an earthquake in case anything happen (choi choi choi, touch wood). *Not like I want it to happen in Auckland, but it would be one hell life experience for me. Okay I sound nuts here. I seriously didn't know earthquake is one of the natural disaster here, until I saw the news and asked my friend about it. I thought New Zealand is like Malaysia, small island blessed with no natural disaster (besides the shyt weather and 4 seasons), but I guess I was wrong then. So yeah, now I know.

Things to do:

1. Drop down
2. Take cover under a table or furniture, until the shaking stops. If there's no table, cover your face and your head with arm then crouch in a corner.
3. Stay away from windows, glass, door and walls and anything that could fall like lights.
4. Stay in bed, with head covered with pillows.
5. Stay inside until the shaking stops.

Then I asked my cousin what to take with me if I'm asked to leave the building. Here's the convo:

"Get your passport, laptop, money and get out!"
"Nooo. I'll take my passport, laptop, my pillows and stuff toy then get out."
"Why are you being so wai?"
"What?!??....."

Then we both ended up laughing like some insane chicks. To be honest, I will take as many things as possible with me if I'm asked to leave as they are important. I know it may sound silly but they are IMPORTANT. My friend also said I'm like those grandma in the movies saying "No, I cannot leave this house. No, I lived here for my whole life. If the house goes, I'll go down with it." Lol. Yesh I'm that kind of person. *lmao

7.1 is quite high for an earthquake aye? I wonder how are the people from Canterbury who I met during Bersatu games. I'm glad that it didn't hit Auckland or near the North Island, it would probably be a hoax for everyone especially those international student/people. I'm fine here, no earthquake, no shaking, no harm, no nothing, not to worry. :)

conclusion: I'm going to relocate my things from now.

stay healthy, stay sexy
live life to the max
xoxo
