Today I went volunteering with Prolife Auckland at 0800 U Choose, a South Auckland pregnancy and options help centre. They are currently doing renovations, building extra 4 bedrooms for mothers with unexpected pregnancy. So I tag along with Prolife Auckland to give them a hand.
On the way there there, all I can see were sheep, cows, horses and green green grass - the other side of Auckland. When we reached there, I saw the most adorable kids running around bare foot. Their nails were clumped up with dirt and they looked like they haven't shower in ages. The kids were so happy to see us. Unfortunately, I was there to work not to take pictures, so I have no pictures to show. I brought 2 bottles of juices there, and one of the kid, named Brandon told me he really likes juice! *actually he likes a lot of food.
Jeannie (not sure if I spell her name correct), the owner of the place have 5 kids; 2 were adopted, both aged 2 and 3. Rachel, her eldest daughter has 2 daughters, Annabelle and Lily. 3 mothers with at least one child, with/out husbands living with them, in such small place. So can you imagine so many people living in such small space? I felt so blessed and grateful of what I had! *Thanks parents for proving for me.
I met some very interesting people that day, ranges from kids to adults. My job was to clean all the windows I could reach and take care of the children. They were so gorgeous and beautiful. I wonder how can their parents not want them. *felt so bad for them :(
I felt so good after helping them, inspiring too. They now have clean windows which they can see outside clearly! :) My help may be insignificant, but at least I helped. What about you?
It all started with me attending Brendan Malone's talk in uni. I wanted to help, I wanted to do my part, so I joined Prolife Auckland. I do not go against abortion not support life because it's so controversial. Moreover, I'm a science student, I know what's life and what's not. But this is a tricky one. I just wanted to help, and that's a good way to do it. I strongly believe, everyone has a choice. *I really do.
stay healthy, stay sexy
live life to the max
xoxo
ps:// i miss the kids already, especially Brandon. :(
