New store in town, new donuts store - Southern Maid Donuts. Situated at Mid Queen Street, next to Missha a cosmetic store.
Because of their new opening promotion, I got myself a box of free donuts from them on the 31st of August with the password: "Southern Maid Donuts are made with trans-fat free oil." And guess what! I'm the first one at the line! We actually missed our chance on the 30th because of the cosmetic store next door. *laughs* I was on my way to uni anyway, so why not go grab a box before I head to uni, right? :D
All donuts were yums! Except for the rainbow one, all of us just didn't like it. The taste was too artificial, even for me (sugar lover). Or maybe because it's topping flavor was strawberry. We had 6 free donuts in each box, consisting 3 glazed donuts, one chocolate, one rainbow and one white chocolate. Like I said, all were good except the rainbow.
I got to say, their donuts are way better than the donuts in Dunkin Donuts. It's softer, tastier and fresher. I think I will try other flavors next time when I crave for donuts. It's just 2 streets away, from where I'm living. Price for the donuts of different flavors ranges from $2.30 - $3.50, each. Southern Maid Donuts are good, no doubt; but the price is not student-friendly. Maybe you should have more promotions like these.
