One of the thing you should know about me is I really love to eat (especially dessert). I am not saying I am a food critic but I'm really picky when it comes to eating. I have all sorts of weird eating habits and some food that I do not like.
HAHA... *literally, no joke..
So one day, I was scrolling through instagram and I came across this picture,
AND THIS,
AND THIS.
Therefore, I went crazy and told myself "I must have this cake before I leave". I found out there's this shop called Nadeje, situated in Malacca (with 2 more branch around Malacca and 1 in PJ). I also found out the name of this cake - Mille Crepe. I told baby I must have a taste or else I will have leave with regrets. I was bugging him for weeks to take me to Malacca. And finally he did. <3
I think the first time I came across this cake was when I'm in one of the malls in KL window shopping with baby (couldn't quite remember which mall). Remembering, baby was asking me if I wanna have it for dessert. I decided not to as we just had a heavy lunch. And today, when I googled Mille Crepe, Ochado came out. Does Ochado serve this? I don't know. I think I would have to make a trip. :)
Does Nadeje's Mille Crepe any good? See for yourself. Looks good doesn't it?
Well, I have got to say my expectations was too high (so jacoon). It was good but (there's always a but) having 2 pieces at one go is not a good idea (even if you have it with empty stomach). Okay, fine.. I was greedy. I couldn't make up my mind if I wanna try the original flavor or the tiramisu flavor. So I ended up having 2 different flavor. Since baby is not the type of dude who fancy desserts, I would have to force down this 2 pieces on my own. I would say, the tiramisu taste better than the original. I'm not a fan of eggs, so all I can taste from the original was eggs, eggs, lots of eggs and eggs. The bitter taste of the tiramisu kinda counter reacts with the taste of eggs and made it not as egg-gy. To be frank, the base of the tiramisu was the same as the original. These cakes are quite different looking and is always good to have a break from our typical brownies and secret recipes' cake. It is also good to have it once in a while.
The Nadeje I went to was the one located in Mahkota Parade. All I could say is "WOW!" to the crowd. The ambience was great (I would have to say) but the service was quite bad. We were totally ignored by the service crew (maybe because they were busy, full house what?) when baby and I tried to order. Same thing happened when we tried to pay. We weren't very impress with their service at all. *quite terrible... tsk tsk...
Overall, I think I made a bad choice in choosing the flavor, I should have chosen the green tea or the cheese flavor, which are also highly recommended.
